Leonard Boon, founding partner, has over 30 years of experience performing business valuations and damage quantification assignments for the insurance and legal industries. Leonard’s work has included assignments related to business interruption, shareholder disputes, expropriation, personal injury and wrongful death, patent infringement, stock and contents, fraud divorce and matrimonial disputes, breach of contract, extra expense, builder’s risk and physical damage claims.
Leonard’s assignments have been across a wide range of industries including oil and gas, agriculture, power generation, manufacturing, construction, hotel, food and beverage, sports clubs and resorts, real estate, transportation and logistics, retail and wholesale. Leonard has on more than 30 occasions provided expert witness testimony before the Court of Queen’s Bench in Alberta, Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories, Federal Court and the Land Compensation Board of Alberta as well as having acted as an umpire under the Insurance Act of Alberta. Leonard also provides expertise in business valuations required in acquisition, divesture, dispute resolution, litigation support, reorganization, succession planning and statutory requirements and financial reporting. Prior to establishing Boon Valuations in 2010, Leonard was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers and led the Edmonton office group that provided these forensic accounting, insurance claims, litigation support and business valuation services. Leonard is a frequent guest lecturer of Business Interruption and Downtime Loss Claim seminars for the Insurance Institutes of Alberta for more than 25 years. |
